Listen Up!!! The Artist-Xchange Listening Station is now available to host the Music of local area Musicians. We are very excited about expanding into this area of creativity. The in store listening station will provide the Artist-Xchange customers a chance to "try before you buy". If you like what you hear on the listening station we will have the Audio CD available for purchase. We are now working on building our inventory of local area music. If you know of a great local musician or band please have them contact the Artist-Xchange. |

SEPTEMBER ART EXHIBIT – "Printmaking" Theme Show September Opening: Check out the show and visit with our exhibiting artists Printmaking theme show Join us for the month of September as we display work that explores the process of Printmaking. The gallery will display artwork that utilizes the following techniques of printmaking including (Woodcut, Engraving, Etching, Screen-printing, Digital prints, "Giclée" prints). Please visit us throughout the month of September to see this special exhibit that includes works from the following artists: Brian Schuck, Jeremy Joan Hewes, Orlando Lacro, Moo, Maki Kayano, Shani Krevsky, Joseph S. Kohls, Rea Solis, Hilary Williams, Gary Comoglio, Jasper Thomas, John Kraft, Diana Blackwell, Idell Weiss, Paul Kirley, Allison Kreft, Anthony Ryan Live Art Demonstration by Hillary Williams At this months reception Hilary Williams will be performing a demonstration in the printmaking technique of screen printing. The demonstrations will be taking place at 7:45pm and 8:45pm during the opening reception. She will be creating a small neighborhood print that will then be available for sale at the opening. Hilary Williams learned to screen print a decade ago and has worked in the medium ever since. She has been showing her screen prints, mostly of the San Francisco landscape around the SF Bay Area and at Artist-Xchange for the last 5 years. Music By: DJ Yoko We will have Dj Yoko (I&I SOUND) With true love of music brings positive vibes from Reggae 45s:Roots and Culture,Lovers Rock, Classic/ New Dancehall. Yoko has been djing for two years in Bay area's bar&lounge and clubs. Loving to share Irie vibes with music lovers, her reggae spirits vibes up all nicely

Artist-Opening - Friday, Octobber 1st, 2010: If you can't attend the September Artist-Opening plan ahead for October and mark this on your calendar. The theme for October "Layers of Abstraction " will explore the illusion of visible reality. There will be 15-20 local San Francisco artists displaying abstract works of art. Abstraction is a continuum. The departure from accurate representation can be slight, partial, or complete. | |
